This farm is located not far from the capital, in the village of Marikaj, between Tirana and Durrës. It is hard to believe that during communism this place used to be a military station. Now an oasis of tranquility where the nature is blooming and the family run its life in tranquility working with dedication in the farm offering organic food, producing wine inside the bunker, producing honey while maintaining the forest, greenhouses, plantations, pomegranate etc.
The farm offers delicious dishes with fresh ingredients and after the tour the lunch will be serve in the nature.
After we say goodbye to the family we will proceed to vine tasting at VILA-SHEHI Viticulture & Family Winery that was established in 1994.
The area where the winery and ancillary facilities are set up is that of a traditional grape and wine producing area. You can get acquainted with local grape varieties, such as Shesh i Bardhe and Shesh i Zi, to taste these wines in the tasting room, accompanied by experiencing local products, such as nape – a similar to mozzarella, seasonal vegetables, antipasti, including veal from the farm, and similar.
The landscape around the farm offers a relaxing view for visitors, and Lake Gjokaj, where one can enjoy fishing and coffee together, is in close vicinity.
You can buy wine products, such as red wine (Shesh i Zi), merlot, cabernet sauvignon, reserve, white wine (Shesh i Bardhe), grape brandy, Muscat Raki (a kind of brandy), walnut Raki, rose wine (Muscat), as a souvenir.
